Hi guys!
I'm to write a paper, an assignment, on the topic "What is math?"
And I came to wonder what math is to different people?
I ask for just a few words, in order to discuss different views of math in my assignment =)
No matter what your relationship to math is I would like to have a few words from ya!

well, math for me is beauty in some ways. Like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Fractal_Broccoli.jpg
who cant see the beauty in that vegetable, comon, Mandelbrot pattern in a effing vegetable with no genemanipulation.
Math is also what makes alot of our world go around...all in all, math is fascinating, exciting and essential to our modern world.

Aha we're supposed to write our answer here...
We live in a world where so much is about oppinions where many things can be viewed in different ways yielding just as different results (just look at the phrase, beauty is in the eye of the beholder). To me math is something tangible. Math is something that yields a final answer. Even though there is often many ways to solve e.g. an equation, if performed correctly they all yield the same answer. Once you have the answer it is THE answer. Therefore,
Math, to me, is something comforting something that brings a sense of simplicity in a world that else is full of chaos. |

Math is to me what Bornholm is for most Danes:
Just a peice of rock, where you don't really want to be, gives you a headache, smells like rotten fish.. and might aswell give it to the swedes...
well wish i could write something more brilliant here mate  but unfortunaly i hate math.. even flunked it in High School
